While working in a directory assistance call center, I received a call one Saturday night. “What city and state, please?” , I asked. “Boca Raton, Florida”. “And what listing would you like?”. There was a hesitation…..”What time is it there?”. Noting on the caller ID that was an international caller I said “18:15pm”. “But what DAY is it?”, the caller asked. “Saturday”. There was a gasp at the other end of the line….”OH NO!!! This is Fiji calling….I needed Sunday!!” .

  • 18:15 PM??? Can you have AM and PM using a 24 hour time designation?
